Attaching chicken wire to a fence

Hi,
I want to attach chicken wire to a fence that is one of the the bar types. It isn't the strongest fence but as it is my neighbour's I don't want to pay to replace it, but i don't want to end up knocking it down by hitting nails into it.
I would assume that there are some type of staples you could use to do it and a staple gun or something but I wouldn't have a clue what type.
The last time I did DIY was putting up a baby gate to stop the dog getting up the stairs. She could still get under it and then it fell of the wall the next day so as yo can tell I'm not the nest.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

There are plenty of simple hand staplers that you could buy to do this job that would make it nice and easy.
Check link below for ideas (not saying they are the cheapest or best so look around)

Just make sure that you use stainless steel or at very least galvanized (I would use stainless) so that they do not rust.0 -
Stainless steel staples were what i was recommending rather than the gun!0

Do you have permission from the neighbour attach the chicken wire? If not, I would ask first, or find an alternative way to put some fencing up on your side. For example, use those metal fence posts on your side.

Bear in mind that if you damage their fence when attaching the mesh you may find yourself liable for repairing/replacing it even if it wasn't in the best shape prior to that. Or if the neighbours remove the fencing, they may take the chicken wire with it if you had no agreement in place to return it. May be better just to keep it separate on your side and know that you have some kind of fencing up on your side of the garden regardless of what they do to yours (I'm assuming at least part of the reason you want to attach the wire is to make the fencing secure for your dog)0 -
thanks all. I bought some staple type things and got my mate to put it up for me. He knew what he was doing. If the neighbours complain I will think of an alternative but if not I will leave itI would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0
