I have lost all sound on my computer. I don't know if i have done something to make this happen. I can't get anything on media player at all, but surfing the net last week some music came through on a website i was visiting. Any advice on how i can tackle this problem would be very much appreciated!

Have you checked in the system tray (near the clock) for the little speaker icon? Try adjusting the audio volume controls and check that none of them is muted.
Might also be worth checking the speakers are ok, try them with a personal cassette or cd player.0 -
Things to check:-
1) Your speakers are plugged in (sorry, but you never know..)
2) The volume is turned up (Start Menu/Programs/Accesories/Entertainment/Volume)
3) Sound card is showing on Device Manager0 -
i had this recently....
go to control panel
then system
then hardware
uninstall your sound card, then let windows search ofr new hardware....
this has solved problems with no sound on my pc twice in the last 10 days...smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
