Hi,
I want to get a laptop for my kids for christmas. They will want to play games, internet, daughter likes to type stuff and print it out (office would be good - or word at least).
Can anyone recommend what sort of laptop would be best - what kind of thing should I look for?
Thanks for reading!

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. how old are the children in question?
I bought my DS#1 a Dell laptop from Tesco for his school work last year when he started year 7/secondary school. He uses it for gaming and other stuff too.
Be aware that most new lappies will have a Windoze operating system (possibly windoze 8 or is it 9 now??) and therefore a trial version of Office. make sure you download the Open Office stuff ASAP and get Firefox as your browser (then bin Internet Explorer) as otherwise you'll have to buy Office to have word and excel.just in case you need to know:

Thanks for replying! The kids are 10 and 7. They just want to play Moshi Monsters online etc. I wanted to spend around £300 if that is possible!?0

With £300, you could go for intel B9XX or AMD A4-3305m
Intel would have faster CPU, while AMD have better graphic performance.
