thedrivers door module is a common issue on mondeo's. Issues with locking

Interesting comment that. Mine is an estate and I have never been able to unlock the tailgate using the key, always have to use the remote.0

Got an interior button? Does that work?
If the only issue is the external handle or handle and interior button then the external one mayb broken in a way to short it to earth.
Its a momentary switch that sends an earth signal to the controller. Switch breaks and earths that wire so the internal switch also stops working.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Still getting the 2nd beep which suggests key press working while in learn mode but nothing after that. Tried taking fuse out and back again, no joy. Frustrated . com!!0
