Expenses + additional account

in Credit cards
Hello,
with me new job I am doing alot of travelling and therefore claiming alot of expenses for petrol and food and drink etc.
I'd like to have a separate account which I can use for these trips as otherwise it's very difficult to keep a track of over the month until pay day.
on pay day i'd transfer all my expenses back in to that account so there was already money there.
I've just applied for a joint current account with my partner.
Can anyone suggest a good way of doing this?
e.g will I be able to get a current account on top of my standard current account and our newly applied for (non overdraft) joint current account? Or should I get a credit card?
I should point out, I currently only have the above, and an ISA and savings account.
Thanks

It seems to me that if you can pay your out-of-pocket expenses by using a credit card then that would be a simple way of keeping a record of what has been paid and when.
If you set your statement date correctly, you might even be able to pay off the credit card after your expenses have been repaid to you so that you are not funding your expenses yourself.
I'm not sure what use another current account would be unless you pay your expenses using a cheque - which seems a little impractical - or from cash withdrawals.

Get a cashback credit card and you can make up to 3% from your expenses.0

It's what I do - works well! I just use the card at work, and use it for all my expenses, so I've got a tally of everything on the statement.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
