Landlord Insurance Question

I'm working towards renting out my ground floor flat out. It is in a purpose built block of flats. The block structure is insured by the Flat Management Company and I know the tenant would need to insure their contents.
I'm unsure if I also need to take out landlord insurance as additional cover? I am wanting to do everything correctly prior to contacting letting agents.
Many thanks.

You need to check the insurance policy which is currently in place. Does it permit occupation by tenants? Will it cover damage by tenants? Will it -re-house tenants if the property becomes uninhabitable? Etc.
You also need to check your lease - do you need permission from the freeholder/management company to let the property?
