E-on c.h./gas/water/electric
Hello,
New on here.
Can anyone from E-ON tell me if, with the above cover, can the immersion heater, which has developed an earth fault, tripping the RCD, be replaced ?
Our boiler went down last Wednesday due to the exhauster fan seizing, leaving us with neither heating or hot water.
This has now had a TEMPORARY fix, new fan to be fitted on
Thursday, IF THEY GET ONE!
When the boiler failed, the immersion heater was switched on and tripped the RCD, so still no hot water!
E-ON sent out an electrician to assess the problem but could not effect a repair (immersion heater change) because he is not a PLUMBER...........
Have spoken again to the call centre(the young woman said she would put it down as an emergency repair!!!!!!!!????????) and they said someone would come out to replace the element, STILL NO-ONE TO DO THE JOB!
Sorry E-ON (well not really!) but after this fiasco I will be kicking you into touch and go to another supplier......

It doesn't sound like they have repaired your boiler, temporarily or otherwise, if you still have no hot water
As regards the immersion heater you'll need to refer to the particular terms of cover you have but I don't see it being covered by anything in these terms

If not, a trip to your local DIY store to pick up a new immersion heater (and spanner if you don't already have one) should set you back less than £20 (or perhaps £30 if it's long, top mounted one)
Alternatively call a plumber who'll probably fit a new one for under £100 (or £250 if it's a bottom entry fitted one and you have to pay him to watch the tank empty!)0
