Hearing Difficulties & Littlewoods

I suffer hearing difficulties, particularly on a phone.

If I email a company for information I invariably get an email back asking me to phone them usually on a premium phoneline.

I have a faulty item at home that I wish to return to Littlewoods. I emailed them & asked how I did this & got the usual standard reply asking me to phone them. I replied explaining the reason I could not do this & recieved another reply:

It said I could arrange a return online UNLESS the item was faulty in which case I should phone them.

I give up.

  • Do you have a phone to assist you with your hearing problem that would make calling these companies any easier?
My dad has hearing problems and has an amplified telephone which is fantastic for him.

Thank you Dave, afraid in my case it wouldnt help but thanks for the suggestion.

I cannot see why these people refuse to deal with emails unless it is becuase they make money out of phone calls or am I just being cynical?

Perhaps you should point this out to RNID? They may be able to raise the problem at senior level.
  • I've received some kind of assisted phone calls at work - someone else reads out questions that you type over the phone (or you could speak directly to whoever you were calling) and the assistant would then type their responses for you. Seemed to work pretty well - would that be an option for you?

Yes, I deal with them sometimes in work. Type Talk i think its called. Not sure on costing etc though but thats also a good option.

Thank you for all your suggestions, all will be considered.

I do think it is thoughtless for a large company like this to insist someone only uses the phone when they have other options such as email.

    Thanks again

    Hi tallyho,

We're really sorry to hear that you've experienced some difficulties contacting us.

You can email us at Help@Littlewoods.co.uk and we are an email based team that can deal with the majority of your queries and we do liaise with a few customers who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing.

There are some queries that we can't deal with, for example, any Financial Service query as we do not have the training or facilities to do so. But we can sometimes speak to some of these departments on your behalf.

If for any reason that a department that is telephone based only, needs to speak to you directly, we have got Type Talk and the number for that is 0870 240 5152.

If you do have any queries that you would like us to look into then please email us at the address given above from the email address that is stored on your Littlewoods account.

We will be sure to pass on your feedback regarding your experience also.

    Many Thanks

    Lizzie
