Laser Printer Advice

Options
I have had a Xerox Phaser 6110 for almost 4 years. I don't print much. That's why I bought a laser - the inkjet kept drying up on me. Now I am finally running out of toner - all three colour warning lights are on. I replaced the black a while ago - a second cartridge came with the printer. I can get a set of remanufactured toners for about £16.
My questions:
1. Is there any reason to expect that the printer won't last a couple more years?
2. Is there any way to choose a good toner supplier?
Thanks for your help :)

Laser printers generally last longer than inkjets*, though I have no experience of that particular model. It didn't get great reviews for picture quality or speed so I don't know of anyone who actually bought one!

That said, at £16 for toner, who cares if the printer conks out in six months time. It's an awful lot cheaper than buying a whole new laser printer.

*I'm running a 15 year old HP Laserjet 4SI, modern ones don't last as long as this though
  • I would agree that the print quality is good rather than great, but in 2008, £70 including a spare black toner was a very tempting price.
