CT reduction

My husband & I are registered blind. We live in a 2 bed roomed house.1 of the rooms is used for a computer with a screen reader, Braille writing equipment, Braille books & a talking book. I have applied for a CT reduction. I was refused & appealed. My council is taking me to a hearing next week. They will have legal representation & a panel of people there. I am very afraid! What kind of questions can I expected? I know of others in my situation who have been successful in dropping a band but they don’t live in my council tax area. I live in Scotland. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you had advice on your claim from CAB, or another agency? x

Council said as there were no Alterations to the house, we didn't qualify. Yes, we are getting help from a welfare rights organisation.

Are you in touch with any online support groups for blind people? I think that would probably be the best place to find others who have gone through the process and what it may involve.
