    Alba STB2 refurb. - £16.99

Can't find out the P&P without registering (and can't be bothered) but they are doing the google checkout offer if you want 2 of them.

    Other ones here.

Edit - P&P is a hefty £10.75 so don't bother unless you want 2 and use Google Checkout option to make them £17.37 each.
All the World is a Stage; and I'm going through a difficult one at the moment!
  • For what it's worth: SCART cables used to always come with set-top-boxes (or at least nearly always) but these days, especially with the £20 Freeview boxes at supermarkets they usually don't. Unless you're replacing a set-top, you need to budget for the cable too! I guess it's one way of keeping the price of the box low! ;) It's only a matter of time before they don't include batteries... ;)

Dabs are quite careless about actually refurbishing these boxes, some buyers have discovered programmes still on the hard drive. However you do get a 6-month guarantee.

eBayer newcloudroom also sells them, sometimes normal auction, sometimes Buy It Now £55 incl P&P for the 80gb, £75 for the 160gb.

    NOTE:
The Digihome is a twin-tuner PVR that allows you to watch either live TV or a recording whilst recording another channel. It does not record 2 programmes at the same time. However, it can very easily be modified to record 2 programmes and is fully functional (with amended features) as long as you delete the channels you never watch, as many as possible, and then the EPG doesn't fall down as a result of the meagre 32mb RAM in the box.

Poundland or The 99p Shop do scart cables, normally not too bad.

i bought the asda one and is has been nothing but trouble.it has a mind of its own.if you press a channel number on the remote it selects a channel no where near your choice!!!!!i think the remote is possessed!!!!as it does everything opposite.thinking of getting a new one, not sure which one though.

Yes that's one of the problems I had.
    Nice to save.

Why don't you go to Digital Spy forums and see if anyone's had the same problem and if there's a fix?

I honestly don't think you'll find such a good PVR for anything like the same price - I reckon you and LSD got yours from a faulty batch, either the box or the remote. Blinking shame.

Check the company's procedures for returning faulty products before you buy, especially if buying online. I've had to return 4 faulty boxes to Asda and Argos in the past two years (that will be 5 in a few days because the current one is also on the blink!)

(Incidentally I've found both Asda and Argos have always been happy to refund/replace the boxes).
