Woodburner seasonal price variations

Hi all
We're looking at buying a woodburner, but we've been told that we're better off waiting to buy it in the spring as we'll find prices for both it and installation will be a lot cheaper. So I wondered if this is true?

I would assume so, but it might be earlier than you think.
My way of thinking would be that the sellers are at their busiest time just now and the fitters fitting them and perhaps servicing sorting out out problems/servicing. You might find that prices start to dip in February. But perhaps it is one of these industries that never really gas sales
Get a few sites and get on to their mailing lists and just watch prices of a few that you are interested in.0 -
Times are hard ! and i,m sure you could go into a woodburner retailer and negotiate a price !.0

Main season for us fireplace shops is between September and March. Or that is how it used to be. I would not suggest trying to get one fitted until after Christmas now, as we are busier at the moment, Things can happen at this time of year ( weatherwise etc) and the last thing you want is someone knocking a big hole in your wall, fitting the stove , but not being able to get on your roof to fit the liner as your tiles are coated in ice !.
Also you may be charged more at this time, as fitting a stove can be 1-2 days work, I could get 4 gas fireplaces fitted in that time and earn more money from them.
IMO and what I tend to do, is give a better price to someone, who will come in now, order up what they want, but have it fitted in the first 2 weeks of the new year. We are always quieter then, until people start getting into the buying mood again, after the sales have finished in the Dept stores.0
