Asking for an invoice?

I currently hold around 30 x Draper Hammers, I purchased these part of a mixed pallet lot a while back.

I am not VAT registered as i don't sell on and require it as of yet.

I have contacted a shop / company on Ebay who sell these tools i have and offered some sort of deal in which they accepted to buy them from me.

They have just emailed asking for me to send an invoice to their sales email address, however... I have never made one? Isn't this mainly for VAT companies and such? Can anybody help me or point me in the right direction to a sample if i need to make one up.

Many thanks.
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

I wouldn't worry too much about the VAT aspect, as long as you are registered with HMRC you will need an invoice yourself anywAy

Just print one up, showing all the pertinent info and the goods. Then keep a copy for your accounts and send a copy with goods for the buyers accounts

  • There are loads of invoice templates within Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word. There's also loads of them available free online.

    This page for instance:

    http://www.ir35calc.co.uk/how_to_prepare_an_invoice.aspx

shows how a computer contractor would fill in an invoice for their time. I'm sure you can adapt it to your situation or find one of the many others.
