dont you think.....

that when you pay for 1st class postage the person should also post the item straight away? not wait a week then pop off to their local PO this really annoys me!
when i sell on ebay i post the same day or the next day and if its the day after i am really apologetic as i dont think its good enough!!

also i paid £4 for p&p then when the item turned up postage had cost £1.55 and the packing was an old carrier bag! hmmm its not right to make profit on the postage is it?

and while im here having a moan if i ever meet one of the plonkers that charges people for uaing paypal lol.....

thank you for letting me vent lol

I always post next day and if I'm unable to I let the buyer know. A couple of weeks ago I dragged 15 parcels to the post office only to find there was a power cut and everything was closed. I had to lug the parcels home and then email everyone to say I wasn't going to be as speedy as usual.

The topic of profiteering postage has always been a contentious one, and like you I always check the actual stamps/label re the cost of advertised postage. I don't mind paying maybe 10% to 20% over if time and care has been taken in packaging an item..but £4 quid for a carrier bag badly packed!! Grr I'd send a snotty email meself thanking for the "designer tescos carrier" but not worth a negative feedback.:p

When listing items I usually make it clear that I do work and only post items a couple of times per week. When purchasing an item I usually allow 4 or 5 days (if paid by paypal) before starting to wonder where my item is.

A lot of people on ebay have children, jobs etc and it is not always possible for them to post the same or next day. Also people might not live that near a post office. Ebay is mostly a hobby for people and ebay is not their first priority, quite right. I try and post my items next day but am quite happy as long as i get my item in 10 days and that i have got a bargain or an email if it is later.

I think a lot of these sellers don't realise that it is against Ebay rules to charge extra for people using Paypal. I pointed this out to someone I bought an item off once and he was surprised and wanted to know where it said that. I emailed him the link and he said he was going to stop doing it from then on but would have to then charge more for postage instead! I thought this was a bit of a cheek but there you go!

i am always impressed when the item arrives quickly, but dont expect it to arrive within a couple of days
would say within a week is fair

i work full time and, if i sell anything, dont always catch the post office during the week.
so have to go on a saturday morning, i always mail the buyer and keep them "posted" he he

as for charging extra on postage... can feel my blood starting to boil just thinking about it
not talking about money to pay for packaging or a few pence out, am talking about extra £s
