I could have a go at you for not recognising a valid spelling of 'Alek'. But we all make mistakes.
    His/her parents certainly did. :D

"Alec" is more usual but "Alek" is a valid spelling.

...follow the in house complaints procedure ... You should give any company a chance to rectify their poor service.
I think this is a sensible first step, the more I look at the website the more I feel that I can appeal to their perceived "good nature" and professionalism. But I won't be holding my breath.

And then this would be the second step if nothing comes of writing to them.

i would have thought if you called any emergency trades at that time of night you're going to have to pay a premium for it,
my neighbour locked herself out and called the locksmith , he came and was there for 30 seconds and charged her £80 , this was a early evening call out and no new lock was fitted

£80! We would have been happy in that situation! We expected for exactly that to happen the door was only on the latch (the most simple lockout situation to rectify). Your friends probably got someone who picked the lock, which is what we expected to happen. We probably would have been happy(er) if they said "I can't open the door without destroying the lock" and they just left with their call out charge (who am I kidding, probably would have still been angry!)

Oh and "T_T" I've edited the post to make the TL:DR more obvious, you Smart Alek you.
  • TBH, £250 doesn't sound too bad for that job, though you obviously won't agree.

    /QUOTE]

remember this was at 5 in the afternoon , not 11-00pm , if i was going to do that at that time of the night i would want to make it worth while ,
my neighbours locksmith didn't pick the lock , obviously , i'm not going to reveal how it was done but it didn't take long ,
