morrisons log roll.

I for one have seen it, bought it and used it, so here are my observations as I'm a bit of a log-roll anorak.
In an ideal world, log-roll is ideal, but we don't live in an ideal world and this stuff can and does wobble and lose it straight lines so easily. So I cut and release every segment of wire that attaches each piece and then nail each piece to a lengthy piece of something like skirting board. This way you can have any length you wish. I have some 7ft long. One you have the desired length, longer pieces to each end, (like goalposts) using a much harder wood to prevent rotting, or a piece of angle iron. Then give it a thorough dark stain and it looks great.
As for those at Morrisons, beware. They are smaller, not just in length, but in thickness. If you place two of any other brand/type togther, you'll find you need three of Morrisons. I've also discovered that are treated with something oily, thus making staining so much more difficult, although it is achievable.
If like me you have searched for usable lengths, I've found loads of it discarded at recycling sites. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
