"Smart Casual" Clothes Question..

yes that top is fine OP
Smart casual means no jeans, nothing with logos on it, no trainers etc
A smart skirt or trousers (whatever is best for you) and that top or similar will be fine.
good luck0 -
It looks quite formal and something that many office workers wear.
I'd suggest: dark flat shoes, dark trousers, polo top, cardigan. Casual enough to get down on your hands and knees with comfort if necessary, smart enough to serve a customer.
I don't really look good in polo shirts! Lol. I'd rather they didn't find that out until they hire me & I get my uniform.
Umm.. How about this top: http://www.yourscontent.co.uk/Images/ProductImages/Big/1860c2a9-9dd5-4f80-a69c-4c348370c9d7.jpg ?
If need be, I can put a black cardigan with it.
I'm glad I posted this thread! I'm obviously looking at things that are too smart :S0 -
maybe a bit better but as long as you feel comfortable in itI don't really look good in polo shirts! Lol. I'd rather they didn't find that out until they hire me & I get my uniform.

Smart casual generally means casual as to not overly formal, but without looking like, what would our grannys call "hulligan":-)
Ie no jeans, no rips, no hoodies, no tops only held together by pins..
Ie nice looking long jumepr/tunic and leggins and heels would do the trick. However short tshirt, sheer leggings (so you can see your knickers, or lines of knickers) and dr martens boots wouldn't.
While the combo sounds the same (top, leggins, boots), it's about the presentation.
For pet store, I would have thought black pants and any kind of top would do.0 -

Thank you for the advice! I really appreciate it.
Just had a look online & came across this: http://www.yoursclothing.co.uk/P/Black_Pinstripe_2in1_Top-(14389).aspx
(Hope it's ok to post the link?)
Would this be suitable? I was looking at a different one before, but it's short sleeves & I really don't like my arms! Plus, this has 3/4 length so I wouldn't need a jacket. It's a lot of black, but do you think it would be ok with my smart trousers & boots?
This also looks nice. It's fairly smart, but in my opinion it would also qualify. If you don't wear heels just flat boots and perhaps not too smart black pants to take it down a notch...0 -
I like the black jumper with built in blouse, I'd wear something similar.
I do hope you get invited to the next interviews, good luck.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -

Would the cardigan be long enough to cover the top, or will the bottom of the top be hanging below the cardigan. I always think this looks messy.Make £2026 in 2026

I could buy a cardigan that would cover the bottom of the top. Honestly though, I'd rather not need the cardigan if I can get away with it. Money is quite tight so I'm buying what I need. I just don't have anything suitable in the house
