Recommendations for a good printer

Hi,
Just wondered if anybody could recommend a good multifunction printer - print, scan, copy; and ideally wireless would be good too.
We have a Canon ML620 but it takes about three minutes to come on as it 'prepares' itself and also uses lots of ink during the process. We have not done any colour printing recently yet have emptied two of the colour cartridges over the past couple of months. Also, the printer quite often stops during printing with a message 'preparing', it then carries on again. It also often fails to connect to the wireless network.
Would like to find a printer that starts up quickly and does not use all the ink. Thank you.

Most printers will use ink if switched off and on between prints.
Epsons have the advantage of widely available compatibles.
What scanning quality is required?
Will it be used to print photos?0 -
Hi santer,
Yes it will be used to print the odd photo.
I have to admit that we do sometimes leave the printer off for a week and I do expect it to use some ink, but this is excessive. My old HP used to be ready to print in about 30 seconds and did not waste anywhere near this amount of ink.
Thanks for your assistance0 -
This looks like a good offer:
