other versions of windows you simply hit the windows update option in the start menu. how is this done on Windows 8 OS
All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.

Presumably Microsoft think that W8 is so good first time out that it'll never need any updates...No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you are on the start screen go over to the top right hand corner with your mouse until the side pane appears showing five icons.
Go to the last icon pc settings and windows update is on this screen set to auto up date.0 -

I get what you are saying but that info is not there. After clicking the little cog icon (settings) there is no option 'auto update' in the next field
The reason I was looking for this is because ive just reinstalled office 2007 and it needs updating
