    Hi All

This looks like a great challenge for me to join, so I would like to please.

I have been substituting my living with credit cards for quite a few years now. I do waste money in silly ways and have the odd events that I should budget for, but haven't been. I spent £3000 on a car a year ago as I wanted to learn to drive and pass my test. We i passed :j:j put hadn't been paying off the debt. I was spending £220 a month on driving lessons  . Well now I don't have to do that, and am snowballing paying £225 PCM off credit cards. Most, except for £500 is on 0%. I have a lot of available credit and a good rating as far as I can tell, but realise it won't stay like this if I keep spending!

As of August my debt is

    :eek::eek: £8028.08 :eek::eek:

    I love that smily. Lol.

I would like to set a pro rata target of £1500 paid off by the end of this year if that's ok? So far I have paid £220! Yeyy!!

I will have a good read and look forward to speaking to you lovely people

    Jake

  • Could I join, please?

I have £3500 left to pay off, I'll make that my target even though I know I probably won't be able to manage the whole lot in 3 months!

  • Wow it has been a loooong time since i last posted, things have generally been rubbish money wise, i am on maternity (1st child) until Dec and not getting paid for oct nov and dec, and am struggling more than i thought we would. Therefore not half as much paid off as we would like. I will update on the 1st Sept and will continue to do so on the 1st of the month. I think this will keep me accountable, and although my target is £7500 (haha) i am going to aim for a more realistic £4000 and then i can look at it seriously in 2014. But both DH and i are now fully committed to the cause and i have also started over paying the mortgage too, only by a few pounds a month, but mentally it makes me feel like we are doing something about it.
But anyhoo enough rambling (makes me feel better). I do not want to be beholden to this debt for any longer than 5 years and therefore need to pull up my socks.

Good luck to all and will repost on the 1st with my latest totals.

    Big thanks to all

    Morning All,

Well as a new month begins it is time to start the updates. Had a fab time in France and it was such a nice feeling to not be increasing my debt, well a little but that did come from the extra cc payment i made before I went :D

So 121 reporting in and a further £250 paid so far this month....

So now at £3262.98/£4000 which is 82% of target. I seem to have slowed a but on the payment front but after this month no major spends forecast. :T
Faced up to debts April 2009: £43099:eek:
    31/12/2013 £3516.66 91.5% paid
