Yep - money well spent but in hindsight, and only having discovered this site 18 months ago, I could have spent a bit more cleverly and borrowed even more cleverly.
My debt is the result of 12 years as a working single parent, making sure they didn't 'do without' but no holidays or many luxuries - just rent, bills and living. I did buy a 1 litre engine T reg car 7 years ago which is still going strong. I think it's gone on raising 2 kids and keeping them on the level and I'm proud to say it has worked and been worth it because they've turned out OK despite all the stuff we've had thrown at us along the way.
I could have done it better with the financial knowledge I have now though and the support of this site would have been even more useful and the darkest moments too.
Getting there and on the long road to recovery.0 -
half and half so far - upgraded my car so it was more reliable, but the rest was holidays, clothes etc that I couldn't really afford but didn't want to miss.
