Money Well Spent?

Hi All,
Just thought it would be interesting (no reason/agenda, honest) to see how many people on here would class their debts as being "money well spent".
Looking back, how much of your debt would you spend again?
How much was just "invested" in beer, cake, junk, etc?
Personally, I'm around 50:50. Half my debt's from my masters (which I guess was kinda worthwhile) and associated toys. The remainder's from my car, which, in retrospect, maybe was a bit fancier than I needed...
So, (this is the science part....) let's give two aprox figures...debt now and how much debt we'd have now iihmta (if i had my time again...)
Debt now: £20k
IIHMTA: £14.5

Most of our debt was spent on useless stuff except for the odd MOT, wedding suit hire, etc. DH's credit card paid for his surround system and it's lasted ages and still working perfectly so I'd say that was money well spent along with our car loan. Our blackhorse loan paid for our venture portraits which are priceless to us. Dell loan paid for the pc I'm using...
The rest of it was spend on crap though. lol.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Most of mines comes from exes and their waster hangers on ( loosely known as family.......!!) so NOT money well spent for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

A lot of mine is from my degree (worth it!) and from neccesity spending when DH lost his job without any notice or payoff - didn't really have a choice and I guess it was worth it as it kept the roof over our heads!!
I reckon at least 10k was just spent on crap though!!0 -
Out of my rough £11k, I reckon £5k was money well spent, the other £6k was probably a waste. But hey, at the time 2 weeks in Greece is no waste!!LBM - March 2007

Most of our debt (8k) came from using catalogues and credit cards to get things like cookers, settees, beds, household items when we needed them - the other 5k (or so) came from well not a lot really can't say that we have a lot to show for it tbh.0

I moved to a new area to improve my quality of life but it went the wrong way...
no work... one weeks work had to last me 3 to 4 weeks at a time... finally moved back to london and got a job (month ago!) so my debts were paying my rent, food, and clothes (I have never even looked at primark before this - I'd still prefer not to but can't walk round naked! )
so in one way it was a waste.. probably shouldn't have moved!
I also don't have any family so no one to help or support me either.. I think that means I pay more! awww
I would like to study but the cost scares me too much - I left school (and 'home' at 15 and I'm fed up with training others on stuff I tought myself but yet they get paid 5k + more than me).Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -
Hmm, well I got a small graduate loan to buy furniture when I moved out of my parents' (now paid off) so that was worth it, but those payments each month and driving lessons are what pushed me over with my current debts.
So, about £3K probably worthwhile, but the other £3K definitely not (yes, I need to wear clothes, but not quite so many!)Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Hi.
Looking back i think about 90% is wasted. I had a tv,computer etc but somehow you feel you have to get the best you can. A lot of it was wasted on paying for a Holiday but my children still remember it so i suppose not totally wasted.
