I have just put in my first letter claiming back my bank charges i had to put in to claim as they sent me staitment dated from 17/4/04 to 16/3/07 due to the takeover from halifax i posted ofthe first lot of charges which amounted to £3937 the the nxt day i recive the missing charges which amounted to £1110 to which put another claim in for williget both or will the just give me my first claim i put the 1st letter in on the 6th april and the 2nd on the 7 th april got a letter back on friday 13th saying ican take up to 8 weeks what di i do next the court thing scares me a bit no sure how to handle it. I am disabled and have 5 children my husband works hard and alway has so for them to take money that is unfair makes it worth while persueing but its still a very scary thought HELP please !!!!!

Hold your nerve! I'm going through the court process too and it is scary but reading the other messages I'm detirmined to hold fast. Good luck

Dear banditbabe
what you need to do is follow the process. The banks have not got 8 weeks, you need to keep to your timescale (read the reclaiming bank charges help thread) after the preliminary letter you wait 14 days and then send them the letter before action giving them another 14 days.
When you write to them you will need to list all charges so you could combine all the charges from the account then.
Dont be put off the more you read and understand the process the less rightening it becomes
