Painting radiators?

Hi,
Do you need special paint to paint a radiator or will standard gloss be ok? We are redecorating our bedroom and the radiator is currently pink and we want to paint it white.
Thanks,
Jo

I've used standard gloss with no probs-quick sand first for a key and off you go. Better half always sprays them with aerosol radiator paint though-that does admittedly look better ;(Debt-free...and staying that way...0

I've used gloss to paint radiators and radiator paint.
Radiator paint doesn't change colour particularly if you want to paint the radiator white.
At the moment there are issues with some white gloss paint due to manufacturers reducing the number of chemicals in it i.e. lots of them start yellowing.
First you should strip the radiator, prime it and then paint it with radiator paint.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Make sure the paint is allowed to dry before the radiator is used again.0

Just use gloss paint BUT read the instructions for use on the tin.
It will say 'suitable for painting radiators' if it is.
Always paint the radiator cold.
Proper radiator pait is very expensive & not worth the money in my opinion.
