Free meter switch? Prepayment to credit?
Is anybody aware of any companies which offer FREE meter switches? I am currently with Scottish Hydro and I have both gas and electric prepayment meters but I would ideally like credit meters. SSE have told me it will cost £50 for EACH meter to be changed because my previous flat had prepayment meters rather than credit meters. Although I have been a customer of SSE at two different addresses which had credit meters and I always paid promptly and left no debt with them.
I don't actually spend a lot on the prepayment meters as I am very economical with my gas and electricity but it would still probably be cheaper and definitely more convenient to have credit meters.

I'm not sure why SSE only quoted you £50 - it's usually £52
I don't know how much not "a lot" is, but if it really is not "a lot" then perhaps Ebico would be the cheapest supplier for you?
Use a comparison site to check.
If so, you can change from SSE to Ebico as a simple tariff change rather than having to wait 4-6 weeks for a supplier change, and Ebico charge the same for PPM customers as they do for credit meter customers
Edit: As I see you've recently been rejected for a credit card, some utility suppliers may reject you for your request for a credit meter.
Your switching of addresses can adversely affect your credit profile, although as you have a history of supply with SSE from those previous addresses, hopefully SSE will take that into consideration.0 -

I'm not looking to change supplier because of cost issues - more convenience with a credit meter. And I was just rounding down by saying SSE want to charge £50.
I have switched to EDF so hopefully once it has been sorted, they will change my meters too.0 -
If you are lucky!!! I have an experian score of 908 and it still wasn't good enough for British Gas and I don't owe them a penny!!British Gas will change the meters for free if you pass a credit vet.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0
