Moving a bathroom

Hi there

I'm wondering if anyone has any pointers on whether this job is relatively straightforward/a nightmare and cost. I will be calling a builder tomorrow for a discussion but thought I'd ask here first for some ideas.

We've been looking at a terrace house for sale, it has four bedrooms (the loft has been converted into a 4th bedroom and ensuite). The family bathroom is the room at the back of house, a large square room above the kitchen.

The bathroom however is far too big for the house. The boxroom at the front would be much better as a bathroom, but I'm wondering if moving it to the front will be a nightmare job or not. The ensuite to the master bedroom is directly above where it would be moved to, if that helps at all?

Any advice gratefully received.

The reason the existing bathroom is above the kitchen is because all the water pipes and drainage are all in the same location. I,m taking a guess that the drainage and manhole access are at the back of the property. You would have to find were the Hot and Cold water pipes and the drainage are from the en-suite above to see if you can easily connect on o them for the supply for the new bathroom. Otherwise it means taking up large ares of floorboards to facilitate these. Can be done, but expensive and messy !

Thanks for your reply. Is the only way to find out where the pipes and drainage for the ensuite to get the floorboards up?

If you cannot see them above the floorboards and you cannot see them outside, then I am afraid so !!.
