Hi folks,
I'm sure most have this problem from time to time, having to pull out a fridge or washing machine and legs get caught up in lino.
It happened to me yesterday with a washing machine couldn't get it back in again as lino a bit torn around leg area at back of washing machine.
I had to cut the lino away to get it in place again.
Other than the usual solution of trying some washing up liquid around legs before pulling out machine, any other better ideas?
Thanks for any suggestions.

A squirt of washing up liquid under the feet, works a treat every time. My father in law and myself were both washer engineersYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

Slight belt and braces variation on the above - within the cavity that the washer etc is going to sit, put a line of good quality tape like Duck tape over the lino. Cover this in fairy liquid and then push the machine in along the slippery tape. Some lino can be slightly soft so even with the fairy liquid it tries to dig in - adding the tape on top helps give a firmer surface to slide on. Because the tape is only within the space, the machine sits on it and it can't be seen.Adventure before Dementia!0

one way is lay the vinyl half way under the washing machine then secure the edge of the vinyl with a metal door bar so when you pull the machine outthe vinyl stays where it is.0

We just had new lino put down and the fitter told us to get an old piece of carpet, turn it upside down, and put it under the appliance we were moving. It'll then slide around the floor without tearing the lino. Worked a treat - my American Fridge Freezer and I were like Torvill and Dean!0

what a great question, shame I didn't know the answer last week when we had a gas check and had to pull the darn thing out - yep holes in the floor.

I have a couple of old laminate floor planks, rock the fridge or washing machine enough to slip underneath. Slides fine.0
