    But in recent years I don't think we've seen anybody reduce the rate on an existing instant-access account within 12 months of opening.
    It tends to happen on easy access ISA accounts (e.g. M&S) and is also a habit of small building societies (e.g. West Brom and KRBS).

    With ISA accounts not covered by Payment Services Regulations they can make smaller rate cuts without notification.
