Windows Live Gallery is not showing Photos in review

Hi
When I try to look at photos and try to upload on my laptop all I can see in preview is a picture of the same flower over and over or a landscape.
Photo's on my laptop show up as image of flower
Don't know where the images come from but very frustrating now being able to preview photos.
Even when I connect my phone the pictures do not show up
Can anyone hlep please I have googled but can't get anywhere
