Help needed DRO, the aftermath and improving credit.
Hi all after years of struggling with debt, caused by a high maintenance ex Fiancee who nearly bankrupted me, i obtained a Debt relief order in March 2011, my one year ended in March 2012.
As you can expect no one will touch me with a barge pole at the moment, so i am hoping for some advice and help for ways to improve my credit rating for the future.
I have just this month managed to obtain a pay monthly orange sim card for £15.50 a month which im told should start to help imrove my credit file.
What else can i do to repair credit and hopefully make me one day be able to buy a house etc?

You may need to clean up the entries on your credit files. This thread explains.
Make sure you're on the electoral roll.
And you should now be able to get a bad credit credit card from a specialist lender. Just make sure you pay it off in full each month (set up a D/D for minimum payment as a safety net)
There's a link from there to the full credit rating article.0 -
Hi Fatbelly, i tried to do some file cleaning i have a ccj ( a debt went to court whilst the dro was going through) on my file through Northampton county court, ive looked online and the creditor's details have changed to northampton county court but they wont speak to me about it or update it still saying active CCJ even though it was on my DRO, any ideas how i can get this sorted?0

You say a debt went to court whilst the dro was going through.
Was the date of judgement after the date the DRO was granted? If so, it can be set aside (wiped clean). But if the judgement was before the DRO date, then it will stay for 6 years (but can be marked settled I thiink).0 -
No the date was a week before the DRO went through
all details on my credit file have changed to Northampton County Court and original creditor won't acknowledge me and ive wrote to the court but they won't correct it to mark it as settled as they keep ignoring me so i dont know wether to just write to the credit reference agencies with proof of my DRO and ask them to correct the information.
