Buyer claiming not received

Hi there

Please can you guys offer any advice. I sold an item and posted recorded delivery to be signed for on 31st October. I checked on the Post Office website and it tells me the item was delivered on 2nd November. Since I have a stream of messages from the purchaser which I have maintained communication with claiming to not have received the item. I called into the Post Office yesterday and they telephoned the delivery office it was received and they confirmed it was delivered.

I informed the buyer of this and the completely deny receiving the item and have said if I do not resolve by Monday they open a case again me.

What should I do now? Never had any issues in he past and worried that I will lose the item and have the money taken away as well as ending up with a case against me.

Thank you all for helping me.

If they open a case and the tracking shows item was dleivered to them then you will win.

However, it is always worth trying to assist the buyer by suggesting they speak to neighbours or try their local office to see if there is any chance the postman may have a habit of leaving parcels 'safely' someone .

    Hello

Thank you for helping. I have suggested that. The lady said its my responsibility and said why should she go to the post office it's up to me to sort. She also said she doesn't have time as works full time. I said I would give the delivery office a call Monday for them. I even sent the tracking number which she as ignored and not commented on I also took screen shot of post office website and sent. She said she was at work and can prove it with a rota so she couldn't possibly have signed. I will call Monday but to be fair they have already confirmed to my local post office it was delivered so pretty sure the are going to try and claim money back.

If you can show delivery using the 'tracking' number online then you cannot lose the paypal or ebay claim.

    from your end its delivered
  • two things I cannot see mentioned :

    1) have you checked the delivery address with the buyer ? - sometimes they give a wrong delivery address

    2) can you see the scan of the signature on the tracking website & can you make out the name ?

Given what you have said then I think its doubtful shes a scammer as most would give up as soon as you give them the recorded delivery tracking

At some point though if you cannot trace the package then you will just have to ask the buyer to raise a dispute with ebay to let them sort it out in order to avoid wasting any more time sending messages back & forth

Postman who delivers my mail just rips the recorded delivery stickers off if the item will go thru my letterbox so be thankful that didnt happen to you !
