handheld steam cleaners

I keep being tempted by ads for hand held steam cleaners. Does anyone have any experience of them. All comments gratefully received

You won't achieve the miraculous results some of the tv ads will have you believe.

I have a full sized pressurised steamer & you'd be better off saving your money to put towards one of these. Mine is a Morphy Richards Grimebuster, but there are other makes on the market that may be cheaper.

I noticed on the windows of Roseby's, the curtain & bedding shop that they recently had in stock a steamer by Vax & as far as I can remember it was around £70.

I've never regretted buying this steam cleaner I have now & it brings my carpets up great.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

My wife bought one a few months ago, not the small hand held ones but one about the size of a small cylinder hoover, she thinks its great and uses it for everything, tiles, bathroom, carpets, windows, mirrors, worktops, cooker fridge etc. You name and she will try to clean it with it.

I've got a 'Penguin' hand held one. Waste of time.
  • Thanks for replying the one I saw advertised was called Shark but I think you're right better off saving for the big one. What was the one bought by Mrs Dounome?
