Willow/Brushwood screening etc - any good?

Hi
I have no privacy in my back garden and can't afford proper fencing so was thinking about buying 2m high screening to just nail onto the existing fence.
Is it worth it? Will it be destroyed through the winter? If the kids kick a ball round the garden will it easily break?

If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in

it does give privacy ok, but if it`s sunny it won`t give total privacy, we put some up October last year, and i think as long as the btm of the fence isn`t touching the ground, it won`t rot as fast, we asked when we bought it from the diy store how long it should last, and they told us, it COULD last 3-4 years, which for the price it was, seams ok. (10.99 for large size)
the easiest way to put it up is with a staple gun, not nails, as you`ll split the wood, then just go to town stapling all over to get best support. (check £ shops)
the one we bought was the reed version (light wood)0 -
Thanks, I will give it a go then. Where did you get it from for 10.99? The cheapest I have seen so far is Wilko for 13.99 for 2m high.If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0

We put it up over our existing fence for extra privacy, we then painted it with the normal waterery stuff for fences.
We just nailed it to the original fence posts, and its held up for the last 4 years, even it those high winds we had a couple of months ago,it didnt move.:D0 -
got it from focus diy, was reduced in price, as it was getting towards winter, and that is a summer sort of thing, they where also selling dead plants, which wasn`t really dead, they had just died back for the winter got a few of those, 1 plant had a price of £14.99 but reduced to just 50p!!! and it`s putting out new growth this year.0
