Unless the poster's friend has a job that she has to sit down for most of the time how is she managing to work full time? How does she get to work?

Given that scenario and the new rules for PIP, I would seriously doubt that she would re-qualify when she is reassessed starting next year.

    none of your buisiness.

zacksmum, advise your friend that from OCT 2013 to 2016 she maybe called upon to claim PIP.

an indefinate award can be reassessed by the DWP at any time.

I have told her this, not to depend too much on the DLA payment. her doctor advised her to drop a day at work but if she ultimately loses the DLA she won't be able to get that day back and just won't be able to cover her bills.

My friend has just been notified of an award of Higher Rate Mobility DLA for an indefinite period.

She's been assessed as being virtually unable to walk due to severe COPD.

    She works full time, however.

Might she now be entitled to the disability element of Working Tax Credits? She lives alone, is in her 50s and has no savings at all.
What kind of a job is she doing?

She works in an office where she can remain seated all day.

Zaksmum...don't forget that once your friend gets the disability element of WTC, they'll also be entitled to free prescriptions, dentistry and eye tests (with a voucher for lens/specs costs).
Tiddlertot...stop trying to stir it. Maybe her friend is a homeworker, perhaps they do have a sit down job. It's none of our business.

Can anyone who gets the disability element of WTC get free prescriptions?

As far as I know that isn't correct, it is dependant also on Household income.

I get the disability element of WTC, but I don't get free prescriptions.

WTC entitlements, with regard to DLA, can be found here, with a home assessment checker:

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
