Good credit but not accepted for credit card

in Credit cards
As fas as I know, I have a good credit rating - I have used the free trials on some of the credit rating websites and there has been nothing "bad" come up. I have had store cards, catalogue accounts, argos card for years and have always paid on time. I do currently have a credit card with Nationwide but I wanted to transfer my balance to somebody else because I am not overly impressed with NW. However, I have not been accepted and I don't want to apply for loads as I have heard this can lower your credit rating. The only issue I can see is that I have moved house a lot in the past couple of years - not through fault of my own (no rent arrears or evictions or anything like that). The house I stay in now is my permanent house but I have only been there for 6 months. Will I just have to suck it up until I have lived there a few years or is there something else I can do?

Are you on the electoral roll as that can have an impact on your ability to get credit?0

I had the same problem with no-one accepting me.
Funnily enough, Barclaycard seemed to let me have one, with a good credit limit too. If you've not tried a lot already then try them, you may get lucky!. Just be careful as applying for too many in 1 go can affect your credit rating also.
Let me know how you get on!0 -
Yes, I am on the electoral roll.
I tried to apply for Bank of Scotland and Barclaycard but got refused for both so I didn't want to try any others.
I don't have too much of a debt on my Nationwide credit card and I still have about 6 months interest free so there is no real issue staying with them, except their customer service is ATROCIOUS!!0 -
