I also get my student loan which will come through in january and then in april. how likely am i to recieve an overdraft and how much do you think i would be able to get?

They'll ask why you need an overdraft if you have a job and your student loan. Whether you'll get one depends on what your income and outgoings are.

Is it a student account that you apply for an overdraft for?

Must be, because nobody wants a facility that costs (up to) £31 a month, regardless of debit balance, surely?
  • In that case why go to a branch to apply unless they will stitch him up with other services he probably does not need or want?
An overdraft can be done online or by phone - no need to go in.

    IMO it's an over-categorical statement.

If it is a student account the overdraft has to be changed in branch. Cant be done over the phone. Not sure about online.

Because Halifax like to make things awkward.

Really though, I have no idea. Been that way since it moved onto Lloyds platform. Must be the way Lloyds used to/still do things.
