Dla

Just been awarded dla max amount, but would like to know if I can use the benefits from getting a car and use them on my own car such as insurance tax mots servicing and even tyres, as I I would like to keep my own car.

    You can spend the DLA on whatever you want. It's up to you whether you get a motobility car or use your own.

    No, you get a free car tax disk only, get a VED exemption number from the DWP. That car when taxed can only be used for the benefit of the exemption holder, it must be registered either to you or your nominee and be insured for you or your nominee to drive. Once you have the VED exemption number, to tax it you will need :

    1. V62 (Application Form for a Vehicle Registration Certificate V5C)
    2. V10 (Vehicle Licence Application)
    3. your MOT
    4. insurance certificate

    Or do it on line.

    No .. .. no extra bits like tyres etc, that's precisely what your DLAHRM is for .. .. to pay for things that help your mobility.
