What would you do?

So i've been having a clear out of my kids clothes, a lot of which didn't get worn cos i'm a bit of a shopaholic. All of my buyers have been happy except one who claimed the item was worn when supposed be be new, (was a pack of 3 kids tights) now I do check everything before listing but cos I listed a lot i'm doubting myself now, I had put that they had been taken out the packet to look at the length cos they had and they looked new and were still flat, I don't ever remember them being worn and they were with about 5 packs of unworn tights that I sold to different buyers all of who are happy.

I told her to return them and I would refund, anyway i'm sure I didn't send them to her in that condition, they have at least been ruffled up to look worn (as in not flat how I sent them) and there was a long black hair on one when we are all blond/light brown.I refunded her the item price plus original p&p even though i'm not convinced that I was in the wrong but she now wants the return p&p. I don't know whether to just refund it to keep them happy, she has put in the message " But what about the extra postage of £3.15 I paid to send them back to you. Please refund that to me before I leave appropriate feedback." so would this count as feedback extortion and could I get it removed if she leaves negative or neutral? It's the stars i'm more worried about. If I do refund her the return postage she may leave pos but mark down the stars, if I don't refund her she may leave neg but I may be abe to get it removed? I honestly sold them believing they were new, they were still folded up flat like they were new but I didn't examine them that closely so there is the nagging doubt that maybe a pair had been worn but they definately didn't look like they do now!

    I've been Money Tipped!
That sounds like feedback extortion to me. If he gives you a neg report to eBay with he message

It's up to you if you refund return postage. tBH she sounds a nightmare and may trash your stars anyway.

It does sound like FB extortion, so I think I'd just ignore. If they leave a neg, respond factually, then try and get it removed.

Sounds like they tried them on and they didn't fit. What sort of FB have theleft for others?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Agree with the 2 previous posters here and as above poster says, check out what FB they have left for others - it's always a telling sign!
  • She has left a couple of negs where the seller had commented that they'd returned an item that nothing was wrong with but not that many that would make them a serial negger, I forgot to mention that I had to open a npb to get them to pay in the first place so suspect that has something to do with the whole thing!

Had she returned them to me and they hadn't been touched still looked new I would have just refunded and stood my ground and not refunded retun postage. Had she returned them and they were still neatly folded and looked new but when looking closely they looked like they could have been worn I would have held my hands up to a mistake and refunded return postage and apologised but the fact she has clearly messed them up and got hairs and stuff on them doesn't say much about her integrity.

I have just ignored so far, i'm hoping she'll threaten neg feedback a bit more clearly so I have more chance of getting it removed. I think she'll trash me whether I refund return postage or not. I'm not sure as it stands whether they'd remove feedback because of extortion as she didn't mention neg feedback but then again she did ask for money before she leaves feedback so it is pretty clear what she means!

As an additional point she sent it recorded but I didn't have to sign for it, do royal mail still send you a book of stamps if you complian that they didn't get a signature? Don't know whether to tell her to try that but would rather not respond at all.

last time I claim a couple of years ago they sent you a book of six 1st class stamps

Could have changed again though as they used to send you 12 stamps before they switched to six
