They would have to if an employee was driving a company vehicle.0 -
Legally there might not be much difference, but morally there is. I think it's fair enough to argue that the law doesn't do enough to distinguish between people who make honest but silly mistakes with insurance (should get 3 points and £60) and scrotes who flout the law (should have their 'nads chopped off... or at least get a lengthy ban). Not that that would be much help to the OP...Sgt_Pepper wrote: »There is a difference in being caught out in assuming since your assurance is still being paid and you can drive another car 3rd party to deliberately driving uninsured.
No there's not, both will get you 6 points and a £200 fine.
Police still don't have to prove that he knew anything - it's for the driver to prove that he didn't know and had no reason to suspect that it was uninsured (RTA 143 (3))Sgt_Pepper wrote: »They would have to if an employee was driving a company vehicle.0 -
I've never seen a Certificate of Destruction with a time on it, just the date. So unless Plod has been particularly detailed on his producer, you are going to take along the CoD, your insurance and whatever paperwork you can muster for the van. The nice desk person should note all of it and you'll be off on your merry way.0

Pretty much my view..... all presuming he was otherwise insured to drive a VAN on his insurance.
It could well be that plod realised that and realised it was a genuine mistake...... and did what they could to treat a genuine error as such.
Its also equally possible if the OP has the insurance docs and they cover him for driving a van he only has to show them anyway.... and not mention the COD or times....0
