I have been contacted by a buyer that brought something 16 weels ago and is now saying that they haven't received it.
When I asked why they hadn't contacted me earlier they said that they were waiting for the parcel to arrive.
What do I do now? Any advice please, thanks

Was it sent tracked?
After 16 weeks, they're relying on your good will!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
No not tracked
I have been selling on ebay for 10 years and usually just refund, but it's the length of time with no contact that bothers me.8 years of being on a DMP finished 3/3/140 -
In such situations i just ignore them now or politely tell them its too late.
But you could file a claim with Royal Mail and if they refund you - refund the buyer. But thats totally up to you. Ebay/paypal won't get involved and its too late for feedback.0 -
IIRC correctly there is a time limit after which Royal Mail will not accept a loss claim
I would check the Royal mail website & if its too late to make a claim then send them a message indicating this ideally with a link to the royal mail information
If nothing else this might placate them enough to stop them from making another malicious purchase soley to claim it didnt arrive again or doing a chargeback on their credit card
if you can make a royal mail claim then personally I would mainly to prevent the above - if you do not have the time then send them the certificate of posting so they can claim themselves0 -

Thinks its a year inland, 6 months overseas.
Not had any missing for a long time - touch wood - so it might have changed.0 -
Its changed to 80 days i.e.
http://www.royalmail.com/customer-service/personal-customers/refunds-and-compensation/claims-process
So its too late to claim
Any reasonable buyer should accept that its their own fault for not informing you sooner0 -
Thanks everyone for the info. It is too late to claim back now and I will tell them that.
What concerns me is that I can't remember what I ordered and brought in July and they could be contacting everyone in the hope of getting some money back. They could have received it and forgot about it.8 years of being on a DMP finished 3/3/140
