I'd guess the gas reading is probably 880 cubic meters, which convert to 5513kWh.

......not in my Universe it doesn't! 880 cu m is roughly equivalent to 10,000kwh:)

OK fair enough - let me rephrase what I guessed may be a solution ...

The gas readings you submitted may have been in a different measure (possibly cubic meters or cubic feet) to the kWh they quoted back to you as a usage.

All were in kWh - the meter, my readings and the email from SP !!!

Has anyone else tried this on SP's website ?

Yes, but what the forum would like to know - general terms - is the answer to the question posed.
I then noticed a new option on their website "receive an emailed consumption reading / click here" which I did and checked my email - to read an email as follows :

"Your gas consumption is 5513 kWh.Your electricity consumption is 1759 kWh."

Is this Per Day, Per Week, Per Month or Per Annum ?

Surely the answer is what the system designer intended. Is the answer known?

Nope - we used 3869kWh gas in the last 12 months

So how do you explain the discrepancy?

We don't have gas, but I thought gas meters don't (in fact can't) measure kWh of gas used, due to its varying calorific value? Could anyone clarify please?
