Hi,
We are looking at getting my partners son a tablet for xmas, but having never had any experience of them before, we don't know which one is best.
My stepson is 11, but he has learning disabilities & has been assessed as mentally being around 5 years. He is very good with gadgets especially his ps3 & our pc, his school has recently received some ipads & they have said he loves it & can work it very well, however we are not willing to pay the prices that apple charge.
We have so far looked at the blackberry playbook 64gb, samsung galaxy tab (7" or 10.1") & the Nabi (purely because it is aimed at kids so is more hard wearing).
He needs a tab that will allow him to assess youtube, lovefilm, & general kids sites ie binweevils, citv, cartoon network etc. He likes taking pictures/recordings & playing games.
We would like it to have decent storage for movies, games, etc.
If you have any experience of the above tablets or any others, I would appreciate any help.
Thankyou

I have read that thread, before seeing that we were going to get the blackberry playbook.
The only thing that concerns me with the galaxy tab (particularly the 7") is the memory. I know we can get an additional memory card for it, but according to a poster on that thread any downloaded games/apps have to be stored to the internal memory, so cant imagine 8gb going very far (I may be wrong).0 -
Not certain but if it is android you can choose to move apps onto SD card after installation.
I do with my Samsung phone ..0 -
Going by my experience of android i woud imagine they would letthe user to choose where to store the games.0

Hi
I've bought 2 of these for my children
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008HNP354/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
Have been delivered and I'm please with them for the cost. I didn't want to spend a lot so thought try these and see how my sons get on. A good starting block that can lead on to a more expensive one if they look after these. Good reviews too.According to ABBA apparently it's a rich mans' world . . .:p0
