Met Parking Services

Near to me there is a slip road in front of shops which is 'controlled' by Met Parking Services (on behalf of the local council).

The arrangement is to allow 2 hours of free parking, and no option to extend this period. In the past I have seen attendants going along the row photographing the cars and sometimes issuing a piece of paper. (Both my wife and I had one of these earlier this year but we ignored them!).

Yesterday, I noticed one car had a local council parking ticket on it at lunchtime. It was legitimately parked (but may have overstayed). I went back in the evening and the car and ticket was still there. I had a look at the ticket and it was for something completely different (I didn't check if the registration number matched). I of course put it back.

I just wonder, as Met can no longer contact DVLA for driver's details, whether they have given up patrolling!
Thank you for reading this message.

I reckon they will still patrol and the Council will have to do the DVLA access thing (as they would is they employ their own in-house CEOs).

I bet this DVLA banning has caused MET endless problems with any Council contracts till 2013, they can hardly hide it from the Council unless it's the norm to use the Council's own access.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Perhaps an email to the council could be sent. Obviously the council wouldn't want to waste tax payers money on a non-service? ;)
