Any gardening freebies?

After being in our flat for nearly 15 months oh and i have bitten the bullet and decided to finally tackle the garden.

Can anyone point me in the direction of any gardening freebies as money is fairly tight at the moment

Try Starbucks for old coffee grounds for composting. My local one has small prepackaged bags of the stuff at the door but if you ask at the counter they will give you huge blue bags full of the stuff.

That's really the only "freebie" I've seen for the garden but gardening can be done fairly reasonably if you have the patience to start things off from seeds. For example I use old margarine tubs as seeding trays with the lid as a drip tray

Have you checked the Green fingered money saving board? There are lots of nice people with some great money saving ideas on there...

Have you tried your local freecycle group?

My local one quite often has people offering plant pots, tools, cuttings, garden stuff etc.
