i've managed to do most things on my new toy as it's pretty user friendly but i just can't sort this one out so i'd appreciate a little help please!

the pre-loaded browser was ok but i'm used to chrome so i downloaded that. all fine until i get to a website with video content or live streaming, it just won't work. the pre-loaded app for youtube works fine & i've downloaded adobe & that's all working ok.

after a bit of searching yesterday it would appear that adobe doesn't support the flash player that used to work with chrome, this changed last february. (please excuse any incorrect terminology there as a lot of this is a bit too 'jargon' for me! :o).

ok, so download a different browser & try that - i've now got opera, firefox & dolphin - still the same problem on each. on the pre-loaded browser i've made sure that javascript is enabled & enable plug-ins is switched on. firefox, enable plug-ins but i can't find an enable javascript? opera, show images is enabled but i couldn't find anything for java. dolphin, i can't even locate the settings! i was getting a bit frustrated by that stage so just gave up.

i have downloaded the full manual from samsung but couldn't find anything to help. what on earth am i doing wrong?

Have you downloaded flash from the playstore?

i was just going to say 'yes', but i thought i'd check. i thought i'd downloaded a flash player yesterday, MX player, but i've just checked on my apps & it's not there. have downloaded it again & tried to view live stream via firefox & opera, still nothing loading.

is this the wrong type of 'player'? restart required or other settings need altering? i'm lost! sorry...

AFAIK You don't need it for the iPlayer anymore though.

thanks :) yes, i'm definitely getting the gist that this is all down to the withdrawl of support by adobe.

thanks for the link, also found this on another forum & the 'help' on mozilla has some advice too (download an archived version of flash, which i'm just doing now) so i have a few options to try.

seems a bit backwards that i might have to have 2 browsers on the go (chrome as it's what i'm used to but i suppose i could get more familiar with firefox if this work round actually works), but it's not a big issue, as long as i can get one of them to view full content, i'll be happy!

update: the download of an archived version of flash as per mozilla advice, didn't work (more than likely down to me not knowing what i'm doing tbh!). but following the links on the android forums, i now have flash working, but not on chrome. 2 browsers it is then :) (until i get more familar with opera or firefox & switch to using 1 all the time).
