Just bought a pair of Solwise homeplugs and the supplied ethernet cables aren't long enough. Can I use standard UTP patch leads or do they need to be STP (the supplied cables appear to be STP)?

UTP is fine in normal domestic conditions with normal transmission speeds.0

Ha join the boat, Yesterday I go a new pair (Devolo) which have the same problem ..not long enough. I have swapped a longer UTP for one of them , thus far haven't needed to worry, but it is too soon to tell, in the position I have my longer one I am hoping there isn't to much interference. Mine are for 200mbps, if I was using a very long run and wanting 1gbps I would definitely use STP. but the card it serves is only 10/100 anyway so I will see.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Thanks, will swap for UTP and see how it goes.
The other reason for swapping is the supplied cable is bright (almost fluorescent) yellow
