Have any of you bright people got any ideas on what else we could use to display clothes if we can't get hold of one? I don't really want to buy a new one for £8 as that's the cheapest I've seen it!

Do you have one of these for drying clothes? http://www.storagebox.co.nz/img/p/303-1430-thickbox.jpg

    Evening

Some 'kind' person just woke me up shouting in the street at 3am. Thanks for that!

    Today I have:

~Been to work. Arrived to find decorators in; 7 hours with drilling/sawing in my ear and paint fumes up my nose. Have come home with a headache; feeling all crabbit! Sitting here with sunglasses on and a mountain of grapes to pig.

~Had a look at Virgin Media deals.
It might be the only way we can get tv in our new house. The Freeview Coverage Checker says we can't get Freeview there but need to try it out when we move to be sure. I don't wanna buy Virgin if I don't have to...Just realised it's not Virgin we need, it's Sky. Starting again. LOL.

~Booked removal vehicles for Tue and Fri. Haggled down to £150 all in self-drive. One Transit, one Luton.

~Take minor house fittings with us when we move.
eg, draught-excluders, security chain for front door so we don't have to re-buy.

~Had daily DFW-style moving-home meeting with OH. Tomorrow's transport planned to get me to work, both to sign for keys, visit to new home and home again as cheaply as possible.

    ~Read Guardian Money free online.

~Turned house upside down to find jumbo pack of antacid tablets instead of buying more.

Advantages of coming to Scotland rather than England:

    Free eye tests
    Less traffic
    Very few wheel-clampers

Woohoo! :j We've booked the car boot sale now, we've got an indoor pitch so no need to worry about the weather & I've just asked on FB if anyone has a clothes rail we can borrow. Have any of you bright people got any ideas on what else we could use to display clothes if we can't get hold of one? I don't really want to buy a new one for £8 as that's the cheapest I've seen it!

:j Try asking around friends / colleagues as loads of people have them lying around (I lent mine to DM ages ago & it's in constant use & no sign of me getting it back!).

I've done 1/2 dozen car boots in the last year and have, so far & fingers crossed, always been able to borrow a clothes rail and folding table for each one!:)

  • :o thanks for all the lovely words about the table throw :o

Very basic but I needed to start with something simple as it has been absolutely ages since I've been able to sew - lost the kitchen table in January & had nowhere to put it up - hence the need for the new (old) table!

I have actually unpicked and re-done both long sides this afternoon as on closer inspection, the stitching wasn't great (done prior to changing stitch type this morning).

Thankfully, it is a lot better now & much happier:) and best of all, the machine's not jammed again since changing the stitch type:j so there must be something "funny" about the other one.

Haven't achieved much else today  as have been quite tired again today ...... really need to try to get my energy back somehow, guess it just takes time and I'm impatient!

    Evening all,

Feeling a bit flat today :o I've got 2 work Xmas do's coming up and I can't find anything to wear.....the sensible part of my brain says that one of them is a glorified night out so jeans and a smart top is ok and the second is only going to be a couple of hours (then I plan to Sneek off to the hotel room for a bit of chillaxing time

But then the girlie part of me says I deserve something nice to wear

    *rant over*
