Hello everyone,
I have, at the end of last month, sent a request to Natwest to get my data under DPA (1998). Now, is the 40 days ONLY working days or does it include weekends as I know banks often are open and working on Saturdays?
I want to send the second letter asap and do not want to wait and give them more time than I need to.
Cheers in advance,
Steve

I'm not sure, the clydesdale bank have told me that they know the 40 days are almost up but they still haven't got my statements ready for me yet as they've been so busy with similar requests, but they will get them to me asap. They told me i can get in touch with information commisioner if i wish.

Banks like to pretend its 40 working days - i.e. 8 weeks. It isn't, its 40 calendar days. http://www.ico.gov.uk/ is down at the moment, otherwise I would give you the exact page on which they state this. That's the Information Commissioner's Office website - the people you complain to when the banks don't comply! The past: Single teenage mother of twins: debt everywhere!
The present: Wage slave for a FTSE 100, no debt but the mortgage & my time.
The future: My time will be my own, my money will be my own.

Hi there
I got the same letter from the Clydesdale Bank yesterday - very nice they asre not going to manage to get the info out in forty days etc. Do you think its a cunning ploy so you forget all about it? Have/Are you going to reply?
