Help with Belkin Router

Options
Hi, my mum has just bought the Belkin Router F5D7230 but her modem which is the speedtouch 330 is not compatible as does not have the revelant rj45 port and ethernet port, its a usb modem and connects through Virgin Media via broadband (not cable).
Any ideas what we could do, would we have to buy another adsl modem if so which one? I have a bit of knowledge but this is out of my league,
We are unable to return the item back to Comet as been opened etc

Any help would be gratefully received.

    Hi Slates,

Your going to have to one of two things:

    (1) Return the router if you can and buy one with an integrated ADSL modem
    (2) Buy a ADSL modem which supports pass through such as the Netgear or the Linksys

Either way you will need a ADSL modem to be introduced into the mix, which currently you don't have (putting aside the incompatible modem).

I'm going to throw into the mix another point here that you need to get a router with better encryption that WEP which the F5D has. Its a moot point for most, but with the increase in wireless networks around its a bit of future proofing everyone should have.
