courier stole my parcel
alvinl
brought a mp3 on ebay.
after 5 days waiting, I contacted the seller. Then I used the tracking number provided by the seller with my postcode and found that the parcel had arrived and signed for. However, the house was empty at the time that accorded to courier's record.
They also provided a signature which is obviously not belong to anyone living in my house.
The seller seems not to be going forward any more. I believe I am in the worse position no matter I escalate the case on ebay or claim to the courier as the signature is sort of strong proof.
should I escalate the case on ebay or go for a police officer? or rather do nothing, just swallow it?
anyone has similar experience?:(

Weird one this. I would ask your postman or ring and speak to someone from the courier company about it as they must be able to she'd some light on it. Maybe it's gone to the wrong house down your street. We had that a lot . Or else the postman signed for it for you and left it somewhere ( mine does that sometimes) or maybe your neighbour signed for it and has it. I'd check all these possibilities first.
Other than that , not a landlord? worrying!0 -
Call the couriers....they could have delivered next doors. I had a parcel go missing. I called courier and they checked details. They said they had a signature, so I asked for the name....was my elderly neighbour. But courier didn't put down it was delivered next doors. Couriers don't even stop long enough for people to answer doors....so mist of them don't even bother entering all the details0

i called the courier, but she refused my request for security reason. then i asked the seller to do so. the seller told me that the courier provided the signature as the final result.:o no investation.
parcel has not been to its right destination, that is for sure. don't want to waste time on it. will not use and suggest people not to use small companies' courier service.

INR will fail as tracking shows delivery. I don't think the police will be very interested I'm afraid.4771_Miles_To_Caracas wrote: »I would report it as theft to the Police and open an Item Not Received case.
This scenario seems to be happening more and more as there have been a lot of similar threads recently. The seller should be doing a lot more to help in getting information from the carrier. However this turns out, they should be getting 1* for several categories in your feedback.
In the meantime I would knock on neighbours' doors to see if it has been left with any of them. Some people are odd in that they wait for you to come to them rather than telling you they have signed for your parcel.
Good luck I hope that it works out.0 -
Speak to all your neighbours.
I had the same thing happen a few years ago. I got a copy of the signature which I could just about make out and went to the library and studied the electoral roll and found it had been signed for by someone 3 doors down. This was after 2 weeks of chasing Royal Mail for the signature - it just so happened that when I knocked-on they that second about to pop it round to my house. I got some very sheepish looks when I questioned why they'd signed for a parcel not addressed to them and why they'd not popped it round to my house over the previous 2 weeks. They'd had been quids in if they'd managed to evade me as the parcel contained a new mobile phone.0 -
If you can be bothered to read through this thread I started - I had exactly the same problem
